Quick and Easy Gas Bomb, like in Thief: Deadly Shadows, By Jason Otto 9/30/2004

Step One:

This is best if you are not going to use the frog eggs, if you are you need to 
create an exact copy of the frog egg in the hierarchy.

Step Two:

Change the model name of the frog egg to a new model for the gas grenade, you can 
use the flashbomb model if you wish, its called flashbom, I've created a flashbomb 
model with a different skin so as to distinguish the two.  This model is availabe
at the Low Poly Guild http://208.49.149.120/schwaa/index.html

Step Three: 

Change the object name to name_gasbomb, and add to the objname.str file the line 
name_gasbomb:"gas bomb", remove the flinders from the object by opening the link 
dialog and deleting them.You can change the combine type to gasbomb if you wish.

Step Four:

Create a new gas effect under SFX/gasfx/smokepuff call it gasbombpuff.  make it 
identical to thegasarrpuff, except make the particles a little larger, 1.1 perhaps, 
and the number larger, 100 works nicely.  Add the emit information just like the 
gasarrpuff has, and add the source, but give it a larger radius, 9 works nicely.

Step Five:

Note the number of the gasbombpuff (the -XXXX number)  back on the frog egg change 
the corpse link from a frog beast to the -XXXX number of the gasbombpuff.

Application:

When you throw the frog egg now it produces a KOgas cloud just like the gas arrow, 
and the bomb is destroyed.  the larger particles and radius simulate the larger 
effect that the gas bombs in Thief:Deadly Shadows had.

Other Issues:

The bomb should work just like the gas bomb in Thief: Deadly Shadows, if you wish 
to sell it in the inventory load out you'll need to change the purchase price.  I 
believe they sell for 350 in TDS, and you have a maximum limit of five, obviously 
they are powerful weapons so use them sparingly for best effect.  This item is 
really good for missions set between the second and third Thief games where you 
wish to bring some elements of TDS into T2.
